Important Information About OEM Volkswagen Parts
Electronic & Programmable Parts
- Control units, ECUs, electronic modules, clocksprings, instrument clusters, and similar components must be programmed or coded to your vehicle at the time of installation.
- Programming must be completed by an authorized Volkswagen dealer or qualified technician.
- Electronic parts that have been plugged in, installed, or attempted-installed are not returnable.
Body & Exterior Components
- Body parts and panels come primed and ready for paint.
- These components must be painted and test-fitted before installation.
- Painted, installed, or damaged body components cannot be returned.
Damage Claims
- Any shipping damage must be reported to the carrier within 7 days of receipt.
- Keep all packaging material until the claim is resolved.
Core Returns
- Cores must be returned within 30 days of receiving your replacement part.
- Cores must be complete and in rebuildable condition.
Order Processing & Payment Terms
Order Cutoff Times
- Same-day shipping for in-stock orders applies to orders placed before 2:00 PM Eastern Time.
- Orders placed after 2:00 PM Eastern Time ship the next business day.
Payment Collection
- Payment is typically captured when your order ships.
- Some Volkswagen-designated non-returnable items require payment before shipping.
- Back-ordered or custom-manufactured parts may also require pre-payment.
Non-Returnable or Custom-Built Parts
Certain items become non-refundable and non-cancelable once production begins:
- Custom wiring harnesses
- Seat covers
- Special-order components
- Any part marked by Volkswagen as “non-returnable”
VIN Requirement & Fitment Verification
- Orders are verified using the VIN provided at checkout. Orders may be delayed or cancelled if a VIN is not provided or if fitment cannot be confirmed prior to shipment
- We want to ensure you receive the correct part the first time.
- If you do not provide your VIN, and we cannot reach you for confirmation, we may refuse a return if the part does not fit your vehicle.
- We may also cancel orders if VIN confirmation is essential due to multiple part variations.
- Providing your VIN ensures accurate part selection and protects you from ordering incorrect parts.
Fraud Prevention & Address Verification
- Billing and shipping names and addresses generally must match the cardholder’s information.
- Orders with mismatched credentials may be delayed or canceled.
- Exceptions may be approved on a case-by-case basis.
- This policy helps prevent identity theft and delivery disputes.
Order Total Adjustments
- We reserve the right to adjust order totals by up to 15% if part corrections or last-minute additions are required.
- Shipping costs may increase due to final packaging dimensions or weight.
- Additional packaging may be needed to protect items during shipment.
- You will be contacted for approval before adjustments are processed.
Installation Disclaimer
- All parts should be installed by a qualified technician.
- Improper installation may cause vehicle damage, safety concerns, or void warranty coverage.
- VWCarPart.com is not responsible for damages arising from improper installation or failure to follow manufacturer procedures.
Warranty Disclaimer
- All genuine OEM Volkswagen parts include a 12-month manufacturer warranty against defects.
Warranty does not cover:
- Incorrect installation
- Damage caused during installation
- Misuse or modification of parts
- Non-OEM components used in combination
Warranty claims may require diagnostic proof from a certified Volkswagen technician.
Limitation of Liability
- VWCarPart.com’s liability is limited strictly to the purchase price of the part.
We are not responsible for:
- Labor or diagnostic costs
- Towing or rental vehicle expenses
- Delay-related costs
- Vehicle downtime
- Incidental or consequential damages
Governing Law
- All purchases made through VWCarPart.com are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
- Any disputes must be resolved within the jurisdiction of New Jersey.
